By a mile, Booking.com is one of the best travel websites to save money on accommodation. These guys always have the cheapest deals on rooms all over the world.
It offers many accommodation options worldwide, from hostels and budget hotels to 5-star hotels and villas.
We find they offer the lowest prices with no hidden fees. Once confirmed, your reservation is sent to your email and you can see the amount due on arrival in local currency.
You will also be advised if that property accepts credit cards or other hard currency for payment.
The feature we like most is that you can often make a reservation and cancel up to 24 hours before arrival without penalty. This feature is really handy if you need a confirmed booking reservation to print out to apply for visas, or simply if your plans change last minute and you must cancel your room.
Our Tip: Search by price and filter by best reviews. The map feature on this website helps book the best-located properties if you prefer to be close to train stations, tram stops etc.
Airbnb is one of our favourite ways to travel. Not only do you get the experience of living like a local in a real house or apartment, but you also save heaps of money.
You can check out many different types of accommodation from private rooms in a home or renting an entire apartment or a gorgeous villa for the week.
Airbnb is a fantastic option if you’re travelling with a family or a group of friends. Sometimes it’s the small things like having access to a full kitchen, fridge or even a washing machine that makes Airbnb accommodation so amazing.
– Why you should use Airbnb when you travel
Get Your Guide has a fantastic user-friendly website that has some unique and unmissable things to do in many destinations. Browse and book activities all over the world.

We use GetYourGuide to book many food experiences and cooking classes around the world too.
Viator is our favourite site for booking food tours, day tours and attraction tickets for the best price.

You can choose to print it or simply save it as a display on your smartphone.

We use these guidebooks frequently during our travels around the world.

Tourradar is a booking engine that allows you to filter and search for the best group tour in the destination youβre travelling to.
It’s the best travel website for saving money and it’s super clever too. It openly tells you which company will operate the tour, the age group, itinerary details etc.
When people book a tour through TourRadar, they can also download an app that allows them to instant message other people that will be on their tour.

I’ve heard of a few of them but not all. Aviator has increased in popularity since it was acquired by TripAdvisor.
Am not sure about others other than booking.com and skyscanner. I felt these two were pretty good. I may need to try aviator though.
