Welcome to Equatorial Guinea!

Weird. Rich in Oil. Spanish.

Equatorial Guinea, a former Spanish colony is the only Spanish speaking country in Africa. The capital of Malabo, not located on the mainland, but on Bioko Island is the hub for the country’s booming oil industry. The country has had a turbulent past and its fair share of political conflicts. Despite recent progress and growth, Equatorial Guinea is still perceived to be under an abusive and corrupt government. Many would agree that this is one of the weirdest countries in the world, still very much closed off to tourism.
