I’m guessing you’ve already organised accommodation by reserving a site at one of the three most popular caravan parks in Lakes Entrance.

Or, if camping or staying in cabins isn’t for you, there are several comfortable hotels to enjoy your stay here.

After you’ve spent your days exploring the beaches and waterways in Lakes Entrance, there are some great places to eat. A range of restaurants in Lakes Entrance offers fresh seafood, Asian cuisine, or the option to take the family down for a classic Aussie meal.

Maybe you can eat one of these 12 classic Australian dishes while you’re in town.

I’ve eaten my way around this town over the past twenty years or so. I’ve been a regular holiday-maker at Lakes Entrance since childhood.

Being a food lover, I’m often asked, “Where to eat in Lakes Entrance?”

Things have certainly changed over the years regarding dining options in Lakes Entrance. Nowadays, in addition to a large number of fish & chip shops that have been here forever, these are some great places to eat.

I’ve listed the best restaurants in Lakes Entrance to have a good meal on your holiday.

So, let’s go! My Top 5 Restaurants in Lakes Entrance:

1) Sodafish

This restaurant is sitting at number one on my list for a reason. It’s the best restaurant in Lakes Entrance, hands down.

Only celebrating their 1st birthday recently, Sodafish has food lovers travelling here from near and far to dine.

The fresh seafood dishes are special, yet the entire menu is divine. The chefs ensure every dish is cooked to perfection at Sodafish.

The interior decor is fresh and vibrant and if you can score a table on the open east deck on a warm summer evening, you’ll be loving life!

Oh, and the cocktails are great here too – easily the best espresso martini in town. This is my best recommendation for where to eat in Lakes Entrance. You won’t be disappointed.

If you don’t feel like fine dining at Sodafish, head to the lower deck and pick up some of Victoria’s best fish and chips! Yes, they’ve got a fish and chippery downstairs and you’ve gotta taste their battered fish for yourself; the light batter is special.

So good!

2) Floating Dragon

This is one of the restaurants in Lakes Entrance that has been around for a while. They’ve been slinging out traditional Chinese dishes for many years at this bright floating restaurant with water & sunset views.

This restaurant gets bustling during peak season, and it’s super popular with large groups of diners and families. Make a reservation early to avoid disappointment.

I highly recommend the prawn and scallop dumplings and the crispy sizzling beef with peppers, but the entire menu is fantastic.

3) Albert and Co

Another restaurant in Lakes Entrance that I’d recommend. I enjoy their breakfast or brunch menu the most; the ‘eggs benny’ meal is delish. Another bonus at Albert and Co is that the coffee is good, too. #winning.

Dishes are creative, generous, and contemporary – something that is a little difficult to find when dining in Lakes Entrance.

If you’re just after a snack or a treat during the day, these guys make a great range of takeaway cakes and lamingtons too.

4) Nicks Thai & Japanese Restaurant

I love eating Thai food, and this restaurant does a great job of serving some tasty Thai food. They’ve recently started offering Japanese food, too, but I’m yet to try it. But if you’re keen to enjoy some Thai food for lunch (some great specials on offer) or reserve a table for dinner, the food here is good.

They offer a BYO option (bring your own alcohol), making it very popular with many diners.

This place is always popular, and the service can sometimes be a little slower than you may expect. But show patience with the team here; I guarantee the food will be worth it.

5) Lakes Entrance Bowls Club

If you want to eat a familiar dish such as steak and salad, chicken parmigiana, or a plate of fish and chips, this is the place for you.

There’s nothing fancy about the Bowls Club, and it probably won’t win the award for the best restaurant in Lakes Entrance, but it’s reliable, easy, and affordable.

Thursday night is ‘schnitzel night’ at the Bowls Club, and they have some great kid’s meals on offer, too.

Most dishes can order a full or half serve for a cheaper price, so it caters to everyone without breaking the bank.
