After six months spent in West and Central Africa, we were ready for some sun, beach and some visa-free countries.
Naturally, island hopping the Caribbean seemed like the perfect idea.
Saint Kitts and Nevis is a dual-island nation situated between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s known for beaches and cloud-shrouded mountains. Many of its former sugar plantations are now large hotels/inns or ruins. Saint Kitts, the larger of the two islands is dominated by the dormant Mount Liamuiga volcano. This is home to a rainforest with some fantastic hiking trails and a crater lake. St. Kitts is small enough to see in a day if you’re short on time. For the keen divers out there, look forward to some beautiful coral reefs and diving amongst ancient shipwrecks.
