About San Marino
The fifth smallest country in the world, and one of the least visited countries in Europe. Entirely surrounded by Italy, it claims to be the world’s oldest surviving sovereign state and its oldest republic (since AD 301). You can easily experience this tiny country on a day trip from Italy or perhaps spend a night in San Marino to avoid the crowds and day-trippers.
