After six months spent in West and Central Africa, we were ready for some sun, beach and some visa-free countries.
Naturally, island hopping the Caribbean seemed like the perfect idea.
Located between Guadeloupe and Martinique, Dominica is unique to the rest of the Caribbean islands. No white sandy beaches and no mass tourism…yet. Often referred to as the ‘nature island’, it beckons independent travellers and outdoor lovers with its colourful reef and fantastic diving opportunities, its boiling lake, epic waterfalls, rainforest-shrouded volcano, numerous sulphur hot springs, superb diving and many hiking trails. Oh, don’t even get us started about the food! It’s good. Dominica is blessed with pristine natural beauty, however, the island has been the target of many hurricanes and tropical storms that have devastated the population over the years. This destination is special and was one of our most enjoyable islands in the Caribbean.

We loved spending time on this gorgeous island and have fond memories of the foods from Dominica being surprisingly delicious.
