About Lithuania
The southernmost of Europe’s Baltic states, and a former Soviet bloc nation which borders Belarus, Latvia and Poland. Its capital, Vilnius, near Belarus’ border, is known for its charming medieval Old Town. Here you’ll find Renaissance, Gothic, and baroque architecture. Medieval-style mead and traditional wood-carving is still in style here. Hikers, cyclists and beach-goers are drawn to this country. Lithuania has many lakes and forests abundant with birch and pine trees, just perfect for the keen outdoor lover.
