About Central African Republic
One of the poorest and least developed countries in Africa, the Central African Republic has endured a troubled history. It’s a shame as this is a country with astonishing natural beauty and fantastic wildlife, such as lowland gorillas and forest elephants (found in Dzanga-Sangha National Park). Sadly though, since 2012, CAR has suffered from civil war and political problems. This has made the country entirely unsafe for visitors and travellers and it is advised by all Western governments not to travel here at all. Please check current security advice before making any plans to visit CAR.
