eSIM Vietnam 10GB plan on phone

This article will explain why an eSIM in Vietnam will benefit you in multiple ways.

In this day and age, with technology continuously evolving, you can easily avoid dealing with phone stores and plastic SIM cards; an eSIM for Vietnam is the solution!

Whether you’re travelling for a few weeks or need a sim card for Vietnam for just a few days, eSIM Vietnam is suitable. The eSIM includes excellent coverage all over this diverse country.

We love travelling in Vietnam when given a chance. Not only because the food in Vietnam is so wonderful, but because there are so many amazing things to see and do there.

There are many reasons why you should choose Vietnam eSIM

Choose the Vietnam eSIM card to suit your needs

Depending on the duration of your trip in Vietnam and whether you will use wifi service whenever possible, these factors will determine what size eSIM in Vietnam you should choose.

If you plan to use wifi during your travels in Vietnam (hotels and cafes usually offer this option free of charge), then you should go with the smallest plan, 1GB for $4.50, valid for 7 days, or 3GB for $9.50, valid for 30 days.

Or, if you mostly rely on phone coverage for your data, choose a plan that includes more data. For example, this 10GB eSIM data pack for $21, valid for 30 days, or the most significant available Vietnam eSIM available, the 20GB for $32 data pack.

If you need more data, use the Airalo App in minutes to top up online. I love that you can pay via Apple Pay or by charging it to your saved Credit Card in your Airalo profile.

It’s so very convenient and affordable at the same time.

Airalo offers the best rates you’ll find online for Vietnam eSIM. Not only that, they provide international eSIM for 190+ countries.

As a frequent traveller, and the first Australian woman to visit every country in the world, eSIM has been a game-changer for me.

Once you’ve used this product and see how easy it is, you’ll realise that eSIM for travel to anywhere in the world is the BEST way to stay connected.

The eSIM in Vietnam is convenient

It’s the best feeling; to land at your destination and immediately connect to the local carrier.

For visitors, this means instant connection to order a taxi, or Grab ride-sharing app in Vietnam from the airport. (I highly recommend you download the Grab app to make your travels easier in Vietnam and many countries in Southeast Asia).

Furthermore, you can access google maps to follow navigation and reserve that last-minute hotel room on Booking.com.

Getting organised and downloading Vietnam eSIM before your arrival will benefit you greatly. However, if you’re still wondering what an eSIM is and how it works, this post will explain it in plain English.

How to Download the Best eSIM for Vietnam

Airalo eSIM Vietnam offers the lowest rates available for data; furthermore, any of the six available data packs are easy to get onto your device.

Download the Airalo app, purchase the right data package, and follow the steps to activate the eSIM for Vietnam before you arrive. Simple.

Important: Your device must be compatible with eSIM. Please check this list to see if your device supports eSIM before purchasing any eSIMs.

Here are a Few Tips:

  • Before reaching Vietnam, switch from your current mobile provider to the Vietnamese eSIM provider. Don’t worry; there is a step-by-step guide on how to do it during installation.
  • Once your eSIM card is activated, turn off data for all apps you don’t use and those known to use a lot of data. Apps such as Instagram, YouTube, and Netflix will eat through your data quickly, so just access that once you reach your hotel and use the free wifi.
  • And, if you want the freedom to instantly send those videos home to friends and family of you chowing down on the best street eats on a food tour of Hanoi or the highlights from your Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Trip, eSIM Vietnam works like a charm.

And as I mentioned earlier, if you run out of data – no problem! Buy more data on the Airalo app within minutes and keep exploring this exciting country.

Keep your physical SIM card in your phone

Another bonus of downloading an eSIM for Vietnam is that you don’t need to remove your physical SIM card. eSIM is digital, so it’s embedded inside your phone; that’s what the ‘e’ stands for in eSIM.

So then, why is this such good news? Having a Vietnam eSIM in your phone means you won’t risk losing your tiny SIM card (as it stays inside your device); it also means you can receive your messages from home.

In addition, your friends and family can text and call you on your original cell phone number through data-calling apps (Whatsapp, FB Messenger & FaceTime, to name a few).

Another plus is that once you purchase an eSIM for Vietnam, you can navigate the Airalo app in English.

So there you have it – An eSIM for Vietnam is the wise choice for staying connected in the country.

Regional eSIM to Travel in Asia

One of the things I love most about Airalo eSIMs for International Travel is that they offer Regional eSIMs and Global eSIMs too.

If you plan to do a region of countries at once (say South East Asia, for example), then your best bet is to buy a Regional Asialink eSIM.

It means that if you’re travelling through multiple countries in the same region at once, then the one Regional eSIM (which covers 13 countries) is all you need to stay connected as you travel around.

  • Yes airalo is great but what happens when you need a local number to verify an app or bank application?, what do you recommend then?

Some apps like food ordering or setting up QR payments need a local number!

    • You no longer need a local number to verify apps or bank applications; that’s the beauty of eSIMs. I’ve used Airalo eSIMs for many years while keeping my original Australian SIM card (with my Australian mobile phone number) inside my device for this very reason (to receive codes, verifications etc).

After you’ve downloaded and installed a new eSIM, go to the SETTINGS and set ‘Mobile Data’ to your newly activated and installed ESIM. Then, set your ‘Default Voice Line’ to your original number (in my case, my Aust number). Now, you’ll be able to receive codes etc.

And, I use WhatsApp for everything – as it works on data. So, my Whatsapp number is set to my AUST number, too. This is how I communicate with everyone online.

Currently, I have an Asialink regional eSIM installed on my phone (as I’m travelling in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries) and I’ve set myself up with Grab, Bolt (food ordering and transport apps) with my Aust number. It works perfectly!
