The Consulate of Niger has recently relocated and it’s about 30 minutes drive from downtown, near the Ouaga Mosque.
We suggest you ask people around that area and look out for the Niger Flag.
How to get Niger Visa in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso
The consulate accepts applications for a Niger visa before noon. We were told the visa will be ready 3 days later due to a holiday, but normally the visa would be ready to pick up the next day. As this wasn’t really an option for us, we asked to speak with the Consul.
The consul (super friendly lady) has agreed to issue the visa the same day (no additional charge). A few hours later and we received a 30 days single entry visa for EU and Australian Passport. Multi entry visa was also available.
What you will need to get Niger Visa:
- 1 Passport Photo
- A complete application form provided by the embassy for your Niger Visa
- A fee of 20,000 CFA paid in cash
- Some basic French is required (or use google translate)
Location: Address: 11 BP. 1015, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
Google maps will now get you there and taxis from downtown cost around 4,000, we paid 7,000 for a return and our taxi driver waited while we were at the embassy.
We have also asked him to drive us back in the afternoon to pick up our visas as finding the embassy can take some time. There is a supermarket nearby too. As you walk out of the embassy, turn left and walk down the road.
