I always felt like I was forced to pay way too much in bank fees.
Surely there had to be a better option.
I obviously wanted to find a cheaper and more efficient way to transfer my money internationally. I was tired of banks charging me unfriendly fees to move my money overseas – essentially they had the power.
In the past, the cheapest International money transfers services seemed to still cost me too much, but not anymore.
Thankfully, over the years things have changed. A new company appeared on the radar and it has made my life easier and saves me heaps of money. Want to save a stack of money too?
I’ll share with you how to make the cheapest money transfers to anyone, anywhere in the world. It could be to send money to a friend, an overseas company, or to pretty much anyone at all.
How to make the cheapest International money transfers? Use WISE
What is Wise?
Wise allows you to send the cheapest International money transfers with far less commission and at a much better exchange rate than the banks ever will.
If you want to move your money for a fraction of the price you’d generally have to pay to the bank, then you need to get on board with Wise today! Let’s get you up to speed on how to make the cheapest International money transfers.
The way these guys can do this for such a small fee is by matching your exchange request at a local level with others around the world. What this means is that your money never actually moves across borders.
How does Wise work?
Essentially, your money is paid into an account in one currency and then gets paid out from a different account in the currency you’ve requested. This makes it the cheapest International money transfer service in the world right now.
It’s a very clever network that actually works as a P2P (peer-to-peer) network—kind of like Airbnb, but instead of dealing with accommodation, it’s more about saving you loads of cash on moving your money internationally.
They use the REAL exchange rate
Banks and other providers tend to set their own exchange rates. That means that you pay much more than you should and they keep the difference. It’s the main reason why the cheapest International money transfers was never cheap when you do business through the banks. Not anymore.
Wise never marks up the exchange rate. They give you the real market exchange rate that you find online using when you google it or check on the popular XE.com website. Sounds fair, right?
Get Connected with eSIM
Get connected easily on your travels—buy an eSIM! It works like an app: buy it, download it, and get connected in minutes! It’s easy, affordable, and convenient. Keep your original phone number, too!
Use our code: RACHEL5045 to get $3 off your first purchase!
What are the fees for sending the cheapest international money transfers?
Wise works by bypassing banking fees. The commission fees they charge to exchange your money are very low, which I love—and you will too.
A great function of Wise is that you can see exactly how much you will pay to send money and what your recipient will receive without logging in or signing up.
Is it secure?
Yes! Wise uses two-factor authentication and HTTPS encryption to protect your transactions. They’re not interested in misusing or selling your data for their financial gain. I feel that this is finally a company created by people who actually care about giving us a fair deal. It’s kind of nice.
As Wise is a peer-to-peer network, it means they have real people who constantly watch over each and every transaction. Before any money is exchanged or moved, they first check and confirm every customer’s identity. So you know that when you send the cheapest money transfer with Wise, your money will be safe.
Whether you want to send the cheapest money transfer to the Philippines or the cheapest money transfer to India; Wise is the answer. Wise can do it all.

Yep, “WISE RATE ALERTS” is an amazing feature to withdraw money with the highest rate in any currency! Just a quick note to tell you that have a passion for the topic at hand. I am using Wise as a Freelancer. It’s amazing. Thank you.
So, I use Wise already. But here’s a question….. when you’re away for 3 months & not intending to be on International Roaming with your own phone number but want to transfer funds from your own account onto the Wise debit card as you go, how do you overcome them wanting to send a security code to your number for verification, so you can just transfer your own money onto the card?? There must be some other way, surely……??
Hi Kate,
You can choose to receive the code by WhatsApp. Just make sure your WhatsApp number matches the primary number on your Wise account. We also use an eSIM when we travel, so any WISE verifications and SMS will come through to us, which is handy.
Hello nomads
I wander how this works as no info on net and wise won’t answer it directly. If you try to take money out of foreign ATM, but it gets declined by wise (for security reasons) and the foreign bank still charges you foreign transaction fees even though you never received any money. Should you receive refund off wise as it was them who stopped you from receiving your money. This happened to me (looked at transaction statement) and queried it with wise but only get a useless generic answer. I’ve had a few transactions declined (no money problems, just wise being too cautious) and worry that I’m going to be getting charges for declined ATM withdrawals in the future (5$+ per transaction) 😟
Hi Joe,
We can’t honestly answer that question for you as it hasn’t happened to us. We’ve had only positive experiences with them so far. We recommend to try and contact WISE customer service again until you get a response from them about your query.
