Your travels will be much easier, cheaper, and more convenient because you switched from SIM to eSIM.

My Airalo eSIM Review also includes an eSIM code with a discount on your first purchase, should you decide to get on board the Airalo eSIM train!

Let’s do this! Airalo eSIM Review – PLUS your discount eSIM code

My Airalo eSIM review explains why I am a cheerleader for this excellent product. The most important point I want to make in this Airalo eSIM review is this. Getting an Airalo eSIM will make your life easy.

I’m sure we can all appreciate that, right?

I’ll also give you all the details in this post if you’re wondering, “what is an eSIM”? Furthermore, I’ll explain how Airalo can serve your needs to stay connected in 190+ countries for the best price.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is an embedded SIM card, and that’s what the ‘e’ stands for in the word’ embedded’. So you can think of eSIM as a digital or virtual SIM.

Your device or phone already has a microchip installed that allows you to install multiple eSIM profiles. It’s equal to having several physical SIM cards with phone numbers and data plans plugged into your phone at the same time.

The microchip in your phone allows you to download Airalo eSIM data packs directly to your phone to get you connected.

An eSIM allows you to activate a cellular plan from a carrier without using a physical SIM card.

What devices support Airalo eSIM?

Most of the latest phones and devices are compatible with eSIM, but before you purchase an Airalo eSIM, double-check that your device is compatible here

Gone are the days of spending time and energy searching for local SIM cards to stay connected.

Instead, follow my lead in this Airalo eSIM review. Browse the range of Airalo eSIMs available (in 190+ countries), choose an Airalo eSIM data pack that suits your individual needs, and get sorted before you arrive at your new vacation spot.

Take it from me; it’s pretty satisfying to stroll straight past the queues of people at the SIM card stores at the airport.

Once turned on, your Airalo eSIM connects to a local carrier upon arrival at your new destination, so you’re good to go!

You can bypass the SIM card store line-up and order your Bolt or Uber taxi to your hotel straight from your phone if you like.

An Airalo eSIM offers peace of mind

Having an Airalo eSIM sorted before you get to your destination gives you peace of mind, especially when arriving in a new country late at night. You’ll feel much safer if you can use your Airalo eSIM to connect straight away. It’s practical, it’s convenient, and it’s cost-effective.

Don’t continue paying high roaming charges and then dread a colossal phone bill waiting for you at home – Airalo eSIM is the way forward. Trust me on this one.

What are the advantages of using Airalo eSIM, rather than a local SIM

  • Using Airalo eSIM, you don’t need to continue swapping SIM cards to access your banking app or receive other daily messages and codes.
  • You can keep your original SIM card in your phone and still receive communication and texts from friends and family back home (using your same mobile number).
  • If you run out of data, you can top up anywhere, anytime, by purchasing another Airalo eSIM data pack online. It means you don’t need to track down one of those small phone shops or kiosks in a random city. Furthermore, you can avoid the stress of trying to top up more credit using a local SIM that sends you messages in a foreign language. If you’ve ever been in this position, you know what I’m talking about.
  • Each time you buy an Airalo eSIM or top up your eSIM, you get rewarded with credits. Airalo awards you for staying connected with them by paying you ‘Airmoney’. It’s so good! Use your Airmoney Credit when purchasing your next Airalo eSIM. You can always check how much credit you have in your Airalo app.

My personal experience with Airalo eSIM

I’ve been using Airalo eSIM EuroLink Data Pack this summer to travel around Europe. My initial purchase for $37 was the 10GB Eurolink Data Pack. It’s valid for 30 days and covers 39 countries in Europe. It even covers expensive countries like Switzerland and Norway. I like that.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro, and activating the Airalo eSIM was straightforward. After receiving the QR code, I followed the instructions to activate my Airalo eSIM.

What should you do if Airalo eSIM is not working?

If you experience problems connecting your Airalo eSIM upon entering a new country, you can contact customer support.

I haven’t had to do this yet, but you can find out more on the Airalo Help Centre and Support Page.

Does my phone have to be unlocked to use Airalo?

The straight answer to this commonly asked question is YES.

Your phone must be compatible with eSIM (check if it is on this list) and must also be unlocked to use Airalo eSIM.

Is it possible to make calls with Airalo?

Yes, it is possible to make calls with Airalo using an application like Whatsapp, FB Messenger, FaceTime, Viber, or Skype. However, you cannot call directly from your phone otherwise.

When selecting a plan with Airalo, they usually include only data (sometimes texts). Hence, you need to use calling apps to make/receive calls, as they function through data.

Final thoughts for my Airalo eSIM Review

If you value your time and hard-earned money and your device is compatible with Airalo eSIM, then the pros far outweigh the cons. This product is easy to use and Convenient (with a capital C!).

  • Thank you for the discount code. I used it to buy a 6 month global pack. I need it for about 2 weeks in Canada, then in the UK and Spain for the next 6 months and then I’ll top it up again. Although I didn’t have any trouble buying it or getting it on my iPhone, the step by step video instructions were not the best. I’ve cancelled my cell phone provider switched to an app for phone calls and texts and when I was out today I turned on the Airalo and phone was silent. As I was walking from my car into the house I got a notification of a missed call, though the phone never rang. It wasn’t an important call anyway, but what if it had been? I think Airalo is working but the real test will be when I land in London and try to Whatsapp my friend who is picking me up! Appreciate getting the discount. It brought the cost down to $75.65 from $89.
