I was lucky to enjoy dinner here with a group of five friends who currently call Da Nang home. They frequent this place regularly for the super fresh seafood and because the prices are unbeatable. They tell me that prices here are a third of what I’d pay along the ‘main drag’ in Da Nang.

The first thing I notice is that this seafood restaurant is packed with locals! It’s loud and busy with groups of friends and families here to eat good food and enjoy a cold beer.

This restaurant is located away from the main beachfront area of Da Nang, but it’s only a Grab motorbike taxi away to get here which will only cost you a few dollars, and the journey time is about 15 minutes.

I left my friend to order all the food. We enjoyed the biggest oysters I’ve ever eaten, with a tasty sauce and crispy shallots on top.

The sea snails in butter sauce were delicious, complete with some crusty baguettes to mop up all that sauce. We ordered a bowl of ‘chip-chip’, otherwise known as clams cooked in a delightful broth.

Among other dishes and lots of cold beer, this whole steamed fish (pictured above) served with rice paper and salad to ‘wrap and roll’ the perfectly cooked fish was fantastic!

This was one of my most memorable fresh seafood experiences to date. And the best part about it was that split 6 ways, the bill was around VND 220,000 per person, which is less than 10 USD each!

And, that includes a couple of beers each too. Unbeatable prices and exceptional seafood!

Don’t miss this place. Easily one of the best Danang Vietnam restaurants for seafood.

It is a specialty of southern Vietnam and is commonly enjoyed as a hearty, filling meal.

Com tam gets its name from the use of broken rice grains, which are fragments of rice that are smaller in size compared to regular rice grains.
