This is the heart of tourism in Tbilisi, with many charming historic buildings, cobblestoned streets, restaurants, and cafes.

2. Rustaveli Avenue
Nearest Metro: Rustaveli and Liberty Square (each on one end of the avenue)
This is the main avenue in Tbilisi. This tree-lined boulevard is a good choice where to stay in Tbilisi if you wish to remain in the city.
It’s near the Old Town, which has museums, churches, theatres, and a shopping mall. Here, you can find stunning art nouveau buildings, shops, restaurants, top-rated hotels, and boutique accommodations.
3. Sololaki (our favourite neighbourhood)
This friendly neighbourhood comprises narrow alleys and streets, individual sidewalk cafes, historical buildings, and cultural pubs.
It is so easy to explore on foot, and it oozes charm with quaint spots to grab a coffee or enjoy the place’s vibe.
This area is perfect for backpackers, hipsters, young professionals & entrepreneurs, artists, and those who want to enjoy the nightlife.

4. Avlabari

Avlabari used to be the central
The Armenian district in Tbilisi is located across the river from the Old Town. Avlabari is around a twenty-minute walk from the city centre.
This is an excellent place to stay in Tbilisi on a budget. It’s close to the old town, and prices tend to be lower.
Here, you can find some great budget and mid-range hotels and hostels. It’s close to public transport, and this neighbourhood has a ‘local’ feel.
Vake is an up-market local area with great cafes, bars and restaurants. A green neighbourhood in a central location of the city. Most of it is snuggled into a hillside.
It’s a quiet location, suitable for families and those who appreciate being away from the busy tourist hub. If you choose to stay here, be ready for some uphill walks. Perfect if you’re indulging in the best of Georgian cuisine.
The area features many beautiful gardens and tiny backstreets with hidden immaculate courtyards.
