Bissau is a small capital by any means, so if you are travelling through, then getting your Guinea visa here is your best option.
The consulate here is downtown, so it’s probably only a short walk from many of these recommended hotels. We arrived on Tuesday morning and lodged our request for a visa.
Some travellers who applied in Dakar were advised that the cost of the Guinea visa here in Bissau is much lower as it is CFA 50,000 (about $86) in Dakar.
Only cash is accepted here. We did not need a copy of our Guinea-Bissau visa (we read this somewhere else that it was required).
The man at the consulate was friendly. He doesn’t speak English, only French or Portuguese.
Multi-entry visas are available. We returned at 12.30 pm and our Guinea Visa was ready.
We applied with Australian and EU passports.
Location: Address: Rua Mariam Gouaby, C.P. 396, Bissau
The Consulate is located on a small street not far from the main roundabout downtown. Google maps’ location is correct.
The opening hours were unclear – we assume, come here in the morning Monday – Friday and pick up in the afternoon.
