How to get Burkina Faso Visa in Bamako Mali
If you do choose to get a visa on arrival at the airport in Ouagadougou, you may need to leave your passport at the airport overnight so they can issue your visa.
For this reason, I’d recommend that you try and get the visa beforehand.
The embassy of Burkina Faso is near the Sheraton Hotel and a taxi should cost around 2,000 CFA. If you arrive early, from 9 am to apply, you might get the visa that afternoon or the next day.
We were lucky as we applied on a Friday morning and were able to get them the same day (EU and Australian passport) at 3 pm.
NOTE: There is also a transit visa valid for up to 3 days.
What you will need for your Burkina Faso Visa:
- 2 Passport Photos
- A complete application form provided by the embassy for Burkina Visa
- A fee of 48,000 CFA paid in cash
- A printed copy of your passport
Location: Address: Quartier Hamdalaye, ACI 2000, Rue 204, Porte 394, Bamako, Mali.
Google maps will get you there and taxis are reasonably cheap in Bamako. There is a well-known Italian restaurant called Guidos which is about 10 minutes walk away, should you decide to wait nearby.
It has a nice courtyard to chill, cold drinks and some good food.
