Situated in the Arabian Sea, Socotra is an isolated island that has long captivated visitors with its stunning landscapes and biodiversity, all while remaining safe despite its ties to war-torn Yemen.
The island is home to approximately 60,000 residents and boasts an extraordinary array of unique flora and fauna, earning its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008.
Socotra’s striking Dragon’s Blood trees, pristine white sandy beaches, and diverse endemic species make it unlike any other destination in the Middle East. Beyond its natural wonders, the island also offers a rich cultural heritage that promises an experience unlike anywhere else.

You will have your own tent for the duration of our trip, we can arrange a tent for couples if preferred.
On the last night, we will stay in a hotel. The tour price is based on staying in a twin room for the final night.

Your adventure’s itinerary
Upon our arrival on Tuesday from the airport, we plan to enjoy lunch at a restaurant located in the capital, Hadibu.
We’ll then proceed to our initial destination, Arher, renowned as one of the finest areas on the island. Here, a vast sandy mountain and a picturesque beach await exploration. Our evening will consist of dinner and camping in this scenic locale.
Following a pleasant breakfast in Arher, our day takes an adventurous turn as we explore Hoq Cave, the largest cave on Socotra.
A hiking journey awaits, promising an immersive experience into the island’s geological wonders.
After descending from the cave, we return to our campsite for a satisfying dinner. We will spend the night there.
As the sun rises on our Socotra adventure, we set our sights on Homhil Reserve. We dive into the refreshing natural pool, gazing out over the sea and have lunch there.
The reserve is adorned with rare trees and unique Flora, which we will expore together.
Then our journey continues to the Dihamri Marine Protected Area. Famous for its coral reefs and diverse marine life, it’s an underwater spectacle to behold.
We will camp in this marine haven, where the soothing sounds of the sea accompany our dreams.
We’ll kick off the day with a journey to Kalysan, where we’ll indulge in freshwater swimming amidst stunning surroundings.
Following our refreshing swim, a light picnic lunch awaits.
Post-picnic, we’ll make our way to the picturesque Zahek Sand Dunes in the Noged region, setting the stage for a delightful dinner and a cozy night of camping.
Today we will have a trip within the stunning Noged area where we’ll explore the incredible Dagub Cave.
After that, we will go to Diksam, famous for the Dragon’s Blood Trees, specifically to the Firmhin Reserve, also known as the Dragon’s Blood Forest, where we will camp for the night.
Our morning will unfold amidst the serene landscapes of the Firmhin Reserve. Following that, we’ll journey to Qalansiya, making our way to Detwah, the largest beach on Socotra Island, for an overnight camping experience.
During our stay, we’ll have the unique opportunity to visit the famous Cave Man, who lives within a small cave on the island.
Get ready for an exciting adventure on the 7th day with a boat tour to spot dolphins and a refreshing swim at Shoab Beach.
After returning to our Detwah Beach camp, we’ll soak in the surroundings, concluding the day with the breathtaking beauty of the sunset painting the skies over Detwah.
On our last day, we will have a farewell breakfast and go afterwards to the airport.

IMPORTANT: The tour price includes your visa fee (usually $150) but does not include your return flights to Socotra.
You can fly in and out from Abu Dhabi. However, flights cannot be booked online. We can book them for you through a local agent based in Abu Dhabi.
The return flight is approximately $950 from Abu Dhahi to Socotra, and the whole group must travel on the same flight in and out of Socotra.
NOTE: The visa & flight fees are subject to change for the 2025 season as the government and airline control them. The flight schedule for our trip will be published in early summer 2025, and this is when we can confirm the price and book your flights for you.
To secure your spot on the tour, we require a non- refundable deposit of USD 600. Your deposit includes the visa fee. We’ll share more information regarding the final payment after your reservation is confirmed.
Please note that your spot is not confirmed until you have paid the deposit, so don’t wait! Send us your booking request below, and we’ll forward you a link to pay your deposit to confirm!
If we don’t reach the minimum number of travellers required to run this trip (10 people), we will refund all the deposits paid to you in full.
Itinerary Notes:
This itinerary is open to minor changes depending on the flights, weather, etc. If we must adjust our itinerary, we will always strive to replace it with an equally excellent experience.
How do you get a visa? We will arrange it for you. We will require a copy of your passport to make arrangements for you.
Why Are Deposits Non-Refundable?
The deposit for your trip is non-refundable because planning and preparations begin as soon as you book. This involves upfront costs and staff work behind the scenes to perfect every detail. The deposit also ensures participant commitment. Since plans can change, we highly recommend travellers have travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.

All nationalities, including US citizens, are included.
Group Size: We require a minimum of 10 people to run this trip / maximum group size of 13.
Are There Any Health and Vaccination Requirements?
Currently, there are no required vaccinations to enter Socotra. However, being up-to-date with routine vaccinations is always a good idea. Please check your government health website for updates.
