When we announced that we’d be travelling to Mozambique, everybody told us that we must visit Tofo beach.
We’d read that this was one of the most popular areas along the coast and we were definitely ready for a beach break.

Finding the best Tofo accommodation was our next step.
We researched online for the best place to stay in Tofo and a few hostels and dated guesthouses came up in the results.
Upon further research, we found a much newer property that had excellent reviews and the price was actually cheaper than these old hostels. It was definitely the best place to stay in Tofo Mozambique.
I want to tell you about this beautiful property that we stayed at during our relaxing break at Tofo Beach.
There are so many things we enjoyed about our 5-night stay at Turtle Cove Lodge and why we think it is the best Tofo accommodation. I know, this place just sounds like it’s going to be expensive – but it’s actually very affordable.
The price is the same here per night for a private room with ensuite as it was for hostels that have been around for many years.
In addition to that, Turtle Cove Lodge is also THE PLACE where you can come to get your yogi on.
Yes, they have yoga classes each morning and anybody can join. Guests of the lodge are offered a discount on these classes; from memory, I think a class is around $8.
Another reason why we thought, wow this is really the best place to stay in Tofo.
The lodge has a very welcoming living area with large sofas to chill out on, nice tables to sit at when you need to get work done, and a fantastic wifi connection. We enjoyed just sitting here and writing; there was such a great atmosphere.

The restaurant is open all day and the menu offers some delicious local dishes, my favourite. We also ate fresh fish and the popular peri-peri grilled chicken, this plate is always a good choice in Mozambique. They cater very well to vegetarians and vegans here and the fruit smoothies were fantastic.
We tried some other places to eat in the small town of Tofo, however, it’s clear that the best food was from the restaurant at our lodge.
In fact, the prices were cheaper here too; another reason why this is the best place to stay in Tofo Beach.
If you want a day away from the fantastic Tofo Beach (about 15 min walk away), you can relax at the small pool on the property as this Tofo accommodation comes with it.
If you’re anything like me, you love to receive value for your money. We just wanted somewhere clean, comfortable, and relaxing to spend our stay in Tofo.
We found value in Turtle Cove Lodge and we love to share a good deal when we find them.

We paid around USD 35 per night for a double/twin bungalow with an ensuite. It’s the best place to stay in Tofo, trust us, we did a lot of research.
You can choose from a number of rooms, but they all look very alike. If you’re travelling with a family, check the listing for family rooms where you can have a two-story bungalow.
During your stay at Tofo Beach, there are all kinds of activities you can do. The staff at the lodge will help you to book a diving trip, quad-biking tour, or Pig and Pansy full-day island tour. Enquire with them when you arrive.
You can also hire surfboards at the beach or even book a surf lesson with one of the local guys from one of the small surf shops.
