Chiang Mai has become a beloved spot for travellers and expats, and its thriving café culture is one of the many reasons why.
From the Old City’s charm to the trendy Nimman neighbourhood, these top Chiang Mai brunch spots offer good value and quality dishes and will keep you coming back for more.
Located in the cute alleyways in Nimman neighbourhood, Groon is number one on my list for a reason; I rate it highly!
My favourite menu items include the homemade bagel filled with fresh smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers, in-house baked sourdough toast with a range of creative toppings, and the Greek yoghurt bowls with fresh mango, honeycomb, coconut chips and delicious granola.
The grilled truffle mushrooms with scrambled eggs over sourdough (pictured below) is rich and delicious, and their chorizo bagel is recommended!
Plus, the fancy coffee creations are also a reason to stop by. I love that they make their yoghurt in-house; it’s so fresh and creamy!
The interior is modern, and they’ve got outdoor seating in the shade to enjoy a delicious dish at my top rated brunch cafe in Chiang Mai.

The range of food at Moon Eatery is fantastic, and there are many options for those seeking a healthier brunch. If you enter ‘best brunch Chiang Mai’ or even ‘best breakfast in Chiang Mai’ into Google search box, this cafe will likely show in the results.
This cafe offers an extensive menu that seems to cater to everyone, offering full breakfasts, smoothie bowls, eggs and bacon, French toast, etc.
I recommend the rainbow salad if you’re craving a great salad, and their chocolate smoothie bowl is a winner!
I love the interior design—it creates such a welcoming atmosphere.

Stoic is a trendy little café in Chiang Mai known for its minimalist, modern aesthetic interior, which gives me Scandinavian vibes with its clean lines and sleek designs.
Located in the popular Nimman neighbourhood, it attracts locals and travellers looking for a yummy bite. The menu is short, but Stoic Cafe offer some classics that hit the spot!
The STOIC BRUNCH menu item (salmon, avocado and cream cheese bagel) is hard to beat!
I also love the serrano ham with fresh tomato sauce combo on toast; it’s delicious.
To summarise, the food, coffee and vibes offered here are good, plus they have some excellent craft beers! Boozy brunch, anyone?

Nestled in a serene garden, Fern Forest Café serves brunch with a view of lush greenery.
The attentive staff, the top-notch food, and the peaceful escape from the bustling Old City make it a worthwhile visit.
The café is famous for its all-day breakfast, which offers Thai dishes as well as Western classics such as sandwiches, salads, lasagne and pasta.
This is one of the top Chiang Mai breakfast places in the Old City to get an excellent start to the day.

Hummus Chiang Mai covers breakfast, lunch and dinner -the restaurant is a comfortable and relaxed setting, with seating offered both inside and outdoors.
The staff are friendly, and the food here is good, with every ingredient fresh and made to order.
The two-person special, which includes hummus, pita, falafel, pickled veggies, and shakshuka, is fantastic!
When you’re craving something other than Thai food, Hummus Chiang Mai is a good choice; it’s one of my favourite brunch cafes in Chiang Mai in the Old City area.

Everything is so fresh and high quality, and the creative sauces complement the dishes perfectly.
They also have great craft drinks, pressed juices and smoothies – everything tastes natural and wholesome.
It has cute decor and a peaceful atmosphere, and the staff are very kind, which is standard in all of the best brunch cafes in Chiang Mai listed here.

Sun Rays Cafe in the Old City is a top spot for craving a sweet breakfast.
Their signature fruit-topped French toast lives up to the hype—beautifully presented with so much fruit that it nearly hides the toast beneath.
While this dish draws many visitors, the menu also offers various options, such as club sandwiches, bagels, smoothie bowls, rice porridge and congee, and filled croissants.
Sun Ray’s Cafe is a smallish cafe, only 5 tables inside and 3 outside; so be prepared to wait.
Tip: Order the house specialty ‘Ryan’ French Toast with fresh bananas, berries, kiwi, oranges, mango, passionfruit, and homemade strawberry sauce. It’s up there with the best breakfast in Chiang Mai.

This vegan restaurant offers a fantastic experience with its lovely ambience, mood, and music. The food is excellent, generous portions, and the friendly, smiling staff add to the inviting atmosphere.
There are so many top-rated Vegan dishes, with my favourites being tempeh tempura, mushroom burger, khao soi and the peanut smoothie.
They offer some fabulous vegan cakes that pair perfectly with a coffee.

Manifreshto, nestled away in one of my favourite streets in Nimman, is a popular spot known for its delicious breakfasts and brunches.
This small cafe, offering seating both inside and out, features an impressive menu with smoothie bowls, breakfast sandwiches and croissants, eggs benedict, and a generous all-day Western breakfast, to name just a few.
It’s a reliable option in a top location, so I’ve listed it among our best brunch cafes in Chiang Mai.

I had to include this small French Bakery located on the basement one level in the Maya Mall in Nimman.
It’s not exactly a cafe, more like a store front with five or so seats to sit and enjoy some of the BEST French baked goods outside of Paris!
They bake French rustic baguettes or larger sourdough bread to take away, plus a range of amazing croissants, pan de chocolate, cookies, eclairs, cakes, baguettes loaded with salami, ham, French cheeses and salad, quiche, and so much more!
They offer an all-day menu, where you can order a croissant with coffee or freshly sliced baguette with real butter and mouthwatering jam.
This place is seriously a gem, and the prices are very fair compared to the food quality they serve.
